Biography
Prof. Zhao Jiong is a Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. A graduate of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Tsinghua University, he pursued advanced transmission electron microscopy techniques. Since joining Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017, he has focused on atomic-scale behavior of two-dimensional materials under external fields. He has published over 150 papers in journals including Science. He has been awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Hong Kong and Macau), Hong Kong RGC Research Fellow, and is a Fellow of HKYAS and YMS of HKAE.
