Biography

Dr. Si Qiao is an Assistant Professor in the UGOD Thrust under the Society Hub at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). Her research examines the evolving socioeconomic inequalities in late modernity through the lens of human mobility, urban spatial structures, and computational approaches to governance. She integrates methods from geographic information science, urban planning, transportation engineering, and computational social science to develop interpretable, scalable, and evidence-based decision-making. She is dedicated to building innovative social data infrastructures that connect public management needs with cutting-edge data science, fostering adaptive and transparent urban governance.
