Biography
Zhiyi Huang is a Professor at the University of Hong Kong. He works broadly on algorithms, with a focus on understanding information and uncertainty in computation. He is interested in sequential decision-making under uncertainty (online algorithms), learning from different forms of information (learning theory), incentivizing agents to share private information (mechanism design), and disclosing one kind of information while keeping the other confidential (differential privacy). He received the Best Paper Awards from ESA 2024, FOCS 2020, and SPAA 2015, as well as the RGC Research Fellow Scheme, the RGC Early Career Award, and the NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Hong Kong & Macau).
