Biography

Dr. Mei obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong in 2023, where he subsequently conducted postdoctoral research. In 2026, he joined South China University of Technology as an Associate Professor. His research focuses on the design and structural control of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides, with particular emphasis on intercalation chemistry, phase engineering, and defect/interface functionalization. He is also interested in adsorption and membrane separation technologies for water treatment and resource recovery. His work has been published in leading journals, including Nature Synthesis, Nature Reviews Chemistry, Nature Communications, and Advanced Materials.
