Biography

Professor Xuechen Li obtained his Ph.D from Harvard University, followed by a postdoctoral research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He joined the University of Hong Kong in 2009 and currently holds the Morningside Endowed Professor in Chemical Biology as well as Chair Professor in Medicinal Chemistry/Chemical Biology in the Department of Chemistry. The research of Professor Li lies in the interface of synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and biology, spanning from innovative synthetic method development to biological studies and drug discovery. His ultimate goal is to advance the development of novel therapeutics.
