Biography

Zixian Wei, Marconi Society Paul Baran Young Scholar, is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, supported by the Hong Kong RGC Junior Research Fellowship Scheme. He earned his Ph.D. from McGill University in 2024, his MPhil. from Tsinghua University in 2020, and his B.Eng. degree from Jinan University in 2017. His research focuses on photonics information systems, with particular emphasis on optical transmission, optical access, optical interconnects and optical wireless systems. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2022 SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship, the 2023 IEEE Photonics Society Graduate Student Fellowship, and the 2024 Tingye-Li Memorial Award.
