Biography

Dr. Lai Yik Po is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education and Languages at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Linguistic Society of Hong Kong, is the Convener of the Academic Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Cantonese Applied Linguistics Association, and is also the Director of the Cantonese Read-Aloud Test. In 2022, he was recognized as a “Li Fang-Kuei Society Young Scholar” by the Li Fang-Kuei Society for Chinese Linguistics. Additionally, he led the public digital humanities project “Cantonese Master Challenge”, which was honoured at the Digital Humanities Awards 2024.
