Biography

Dr. ZHAO Kai is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), supported by the RGC Junior Research Fellow Scheme. He obtained his Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2023. He was listed among the 47th Round University Research Committee (URC) Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) Scheme at HKU. His research focuses on underground energy storage, rock mechanics and engineering geology, with particular emphasis on compressed air energy storage in salt caverns.
