Biography

Jianfa SHEN is a Professor of the Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on urbanization, migration, urban and regional development, urban governance and urban competitiveness. He has conducted extensive research in these areas contributing to theoretical and methodological advancements, and empirical analysis and applications, including the development of a dual-track urbanization framework and the causes of changing migration patterns in China. He serves on the editorial boards of Population, Space and Place, Applied Spatial Analysis and Policy. He is among the top 2% scientists in the world in 2019-2025.
