Biography

Professor Chan is a nurse by training, with strong interest in end-of-life care, gerontology as well as care ethics. She has conducted a number of research and knowledge transfer projects on promoting end-of-life care, especially Advance Care Planning, among older adults and people with life-limiting illnesses. She had served as honorary advisor on aged care services for many NGOs. In recognition of her outstanding research capabilities and contribution to the healthcare field, she was inducted as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and International Nursing Researcher Hall of Fame by Sigma Theta Tau International Society of Nursing.
