Biography

Prof. Chen‘s research focuses on migration and urbanization, health and mental health, as well as help seeking and service utilization. Her work examines how structural disadvantages give rise to individual disparities and how these disadvantages can be eliminated through policy and practice interventions. Her work has appeared in China Quarterly, Urban Studies, Habitat International, Cities, Social Science & Medicine, Transcultural Psychiatry, among others. She is a recipient of the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme awarded by RGC in 2023/24.
