Biography

Dr. Mendoza's research is in educational psychology and formative assessment. Specifically, he develops studies aimed at assessing and intervening in the psychoeducational mechanisms that underpin learning practices, motivation, and achievement. These include students' growth mindset practices, self-regulated learning, motivation, and well-being. He also examines contexts that foster these outcomes such as teachers' need-supportive teaching and need-supportive task instructions.
