Biography

Zhu Deng is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Geography at The University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD from Tsinghua University in 2022 and subsequently worked as a Senior Algorithm Engineer at Alibaba Cloud. His research focuses on sustainability big data and greenhouse gas emissions, with particular interests in near-real-time carbon emission monitoring, greenhouse gas accounting, and the application of artificial intelligence and Earth observation data to climate change research. He has published over 40 papers in SCI-indexed journals, including Nature Portfolio journals such as Nature Reviews Earth & Environment, Nature Communications, and Nature Geoscience.
