Biography

Professor Zihan Kan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research lies at the intersection of human activities and environmental dynamics, focusing on innovative geospatial methods to address urban and environmental challenges. She has published extensively in GIScience, environmental health, and urban geography, garnering over 2,500 citations. She was a recipient of the RGC Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme (2020). She has served on the AAG Health and Medical Geography Specialty Group Board and received the 2026 IGU Early Career Award.
