Biography

Dongwook Shin is an Associate Professor of Information Systems, Business Statistics, and Operations Management at HKUST Business School, and a Faculty Associate of the HKUST Li & Fung Supply Chain Institute. He earned his Ph.D. in Decision, Risk, and Operations from Columbia University, following a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from KAIST. His research examines online platforms, social learning, dynamic pricing, and sequential decision-making, with a focus on how online reviews and product rankings shape consumer behavior and firm strategy. His work appears in leading journals including Management Science, Operations Research, MIS Quarterly, and M&SOM.
