Biography

Professor Catherine So is a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Assistant Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Education at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Chicago in 2007. As a developmental psychologist, Professor So specializes in child language, cognitive development, and gestural communication in typically and atypically developing children. Globally recognized in special education, she pioneered the Robot for Autism Behavioral Intervention (RABI®) program and founded the social enterprise STAR Limited to deliver robot-based therapy, earning prestigious accolades including the 2024 QS Reimagine Education Silver Award.
