Biography

Dr. Hengyan Zhu is an RGC Junior Research Fellow (2026/27) and Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Microbiology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on the immune–microbiome axis in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), investigating how oral microbiota dysbiosis drives immune evasion and how microbiome-targeted strategies may enhance immunotherapy. Her fellowship project pursues this axis from mechanistic insight to immunotherapeutic potential.
