Biography

Dr. Usman is currently a Post‑doctoral Research Fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University under the RGC Junior Research Fellowship Scheme. His research bridges sustainable production and textile innovation, specializing in fibre upcycling for energy storage. Awarded Deakin-IFM’s Excellence in Research Award (2021 and 2025) for pioneering MXene work, Dr. Usman has authored over 70 papers, including collaborations with Prof. Yury Gogotsi. His post‑doctoral journey spans biofibres, ceramics, and global collaborations, with recognitions such as CAS Future Leaders (2024) and representing Australia at the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Chemistry (2025).
