Biography

Inspired by natural products, their biosynthesis, and their role in drug discovery, Dr. Scheeff's research background spans total synthesis, synthetic methodology, and medicinal chemistry. Dr. Scheef completed his chemistry studies at Humboldt University of Berlin and obtained his PhD at the University of Bonn under Prof. Dirk Menche, specializing in polyketide synthesis. Following research stays at TU Dresden (Prof. Peter Metz) and The University of Hong Kong (Prof. Pauline Chiu), he is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Associate at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in the group of Prof. Billy Ng, focusing on antiviral nucleoside analogues and natural product modification.
