HKRFA Symposium on AI & Digital Health (Highlights)
The Alliance successfully concluded its inaugural “AI & Digital Health” Symposium with great success!
Held on 16 May 2026 at The Park Lane Hong Kong, the Symposium brought together an outstanding community of researchers and scholars to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the future of healthcare. The event covered a wide range of cutting-edge topics, including medical imaging, digital health, drug discovery, surgical robotics, brain-computer interfaces, and population health.
The symposium opened with remarks by Professor James Tang, Secretary-General of the University Grants Committee. It was followed by three outstanding keynote speakers — Professor Alison Noble, Professor Joseph Sung, and Professor. Wei-Ying Ma — whose inspiring presentations offered valuable perspectives on the future of AI, digital health, and biomedical innovation.
We were also honoured to hear from Professor Xuechen Li, Professor Paddy Chan, Professor Qi Dou, and Professor Feng Xu, who shared thought-provoking perspectives on AI-driven drug discovery, brain-computer interfaces, autonomous surgical robotics, and the connections between climate, environment, and human health.
The symposium was immediately followed by a VIP dinner, at which senior management representatives from UGC-funded universities were invited to an informal gathering with Professor Tang, the keynote speakers and guests.
It was a truly engaging day of knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary dialogue, and collaboration. We look forward to continuing the momentum and advancing innovation at the intersection of AI and healthcare.
